Miguel Varoni and Catherine Siachoque have been married for 28 years and are one of the most admired couples in Latin American entertainment.
Their love story began when Varoni first saw Cathy on a plane headed for the Colombian coast to film Las Juan, the soap opera they both worked on. He has shared in several interviews that from that moment, he wanted to win her heart, and gradually, as they filmed together, they fell in love.

In a recent conversation with Venezuelan Alejandro Chaban, Varoni discussed his marriage and how it has endured over time. “I have been married for 28 years, and it has been an absolutely spectacular marriage… we have faced significant challenges, not within our relationship but from the outside. We have both experienced loss and hardships that have compelled us to unite… These crises have brought us closer together… They have allowed us to reinvent ourselves as a couple numerous times, and we are very grateful for that.”

Varoni also pointed out that unfortunately, marriages today tend to be short-lived. “Cathy and I talked about how marriages don’t last long… people separate very quickly; after a year and a half, they say, ‘Hey, it didn’t work out, it’s over’… Those who know my story are aware that my first marriage lasted a year and a half, and I experienced a similar situation… This gives me the perspective to say such things,” Varoni acknowledged, admitting that he now understands why his union with Ércole was so brief.

This comment came when the interviewer asked him what he attributes the success of his marriage to Siachoque.
“I credit my wife, Cathy. It’s not that my first wife did anything wrong. I just wasn’t ready; I’ve always said that my first marriage failed because of me… In this second marriage, I’ve been more prepared,” explained the director and producer, giving most of the credit to his wife: “She’s been a unique, perfect partner. Thanks to her, I am where I am; she has supported me and shaped me into who I am… She lifts me up and has helped me reinvent myself countless times…”
