Israeli bombing in Beirut leaves several injured

According to Hezbollah, at least 16 of the 31 killed in yesterday’s bombing were members of the group, including the deaths of two senior officials, commander Ibrahim Aqil and Ahmed Wahbi, leader of the elite Radwan Forces corps.

“The total number of deaths in these three days, including the explosions of pagers and walkie talkies, has reached 70,” said Abiad, who added that this figure could rise given that there are several wounded in critical condition in different hospitals in the capital.

Since Tuesday, hospitals have performed more than 2,000 surgeries on people injured in the simultaneous explosions of thousands of communication devices in the hands of members of Iran’s ally Hezbollah.

The unprecedented explosions have been blamed on Israel and Hezbollah has warned that it will retaliate against the Israeli state, as this is the incident with the most victims since the beginning of border clashes between the parties almost a year ago.
