‘Emergency’ Controversy Adds to Kangana Ranaut’s Troubles – Life & Style

Kangana Ranaut’s film ‘Emergency’ ran into a major controversy when Sikh organizations accused Kangana Ranaut of misrepresenting the Sikh community.

According to Indian media, a district court in Chandigarh has issued a notice to actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut over her controversial film ‘Emergency’.

Indian Muslim comedian forced to return from Delhi to Mumbai after death threats

Advocate Ravinder Singh Bassi, former president of the District Bar Association, filed a petition claiming that the actress had tried to tarnish the image of Sikhs in her film. Not only this, the film has made many false allegations against the Sikh community and tried to distort the facts.

The court will hear the matter again on December 5.

Kangana Ranaut says that I had staked my personal property on the film, which was about to hit the theatres. The actor said that since it is not releasing now, the property is sitting there, which will be sold in tough times.

The story of the film ‘Emergency’ is written by actress and Member of Parliament Kanganaranavat, and it is jointly produced by Actress Orzi Studio. The story of the film is based on the Emergency imposed in India in 1975 by the Indira Gandhi government.

Kanganaranavat has played the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in this film.

The cast of the film also includes Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Vishk Nair, Mahima Chaudhary and Milind Soman.

The film was scheduled to release last year but was postponed to June this year. It was postponed again till September 6 due to the Lok Sabha elections. But due to non-clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), it is not clear when the film will hit the theaters.

Zee Entertainment Enterprises had approached the Mumbai High Court earlier this month seeking an intervention to approve the film’s release. But the court refused to grant immediate relief.
