Ice hockey: Details: Ice hockey legend Jaromir Jagr retires

Jaromir Jagr, 52, began his professional career in 1988 and on Wednesday night he started his 37th season. Now it seems that it will be the last in a long and successful career.

– Jaromir announced that this season will be his last, says his agent Jaroslav Zidek.

The 52-year-old currently belongs to the Kladno Knights in his native Czech Republic, but he has previously represented clubs such as the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Washington Capitals.

After playing in nine different NHL clubs, he can boast 1921 points in 1733 games. That’s more points than any other European scored in the NHL.

“The last ride begins,” writes Jagr on social media during Wednesday evening.

Jagr has taken home the Stanley Cup on two occasions.
