AMIS, an Indonesian indie soloist, is increasingly known for his song lyrics that describe social and political phenomena that are relevant to current conditions. His works have found a place in the hearts of indie music lovers in the country.
M Bloc Fest Festival Director Wendi Putranto said Jason Ranti, or better known as JJ, must prepare to face competition with Amis.
“This Amis is dangerous. Next year, he could replace JJ aka Jason Ranti. So, JJ must be prepared because this Amis is dangerous,” said Wendi.
Amis’ works, which dare to touch on social and political issues, are indeed a special attraction for his listeners.
Some of his controversial songs that have gained public attention include Selamat Hari Raya Media Sosial, Apa Jadinya Jika Kristen Yang Masuk Surga, Darurat Judi, and his latest single, O Kanan O Kanan Kiri Kotak Segitiga Atas.
“Amis raises sensitive themes, but the delivery and lyrics are very easy to understand. It’s also surprising because on Spotify, Amis already has 30 thousand loyal listeners who listen to his work every day,” explained Wendi.

Wendi also added, “This is a unique finding. His name is Amis, but his music is not ‘fishy’. That’s why I said, Jason Ranti must be careful.”
Amis will also be participating in the M Bloc Music Festival, which will take place on September 27-29, 2024.
This annual multi-genre music festival gives space to up-and-coming musicians and bands who have the potential to become big stars in the future.

Amis is one of the soloists who passed the very strict curation process. Out of 900 applicants, only 11 bands and musicians were selected to perform at the M Bloc Music Festival, including Amis.
“From 900 applicants, only 11 bands passed the curation and Amis was one of them,” added Wendi.
With his unique musical style and controversial themes, Amis is strengthening his position in the Indonesian indie music scene, ready to rock the stage and bring a breath of fresh air to the country’s music industry. (Z-1)
