Philippe Montrichard founded the company ABT 24/24 in 1984, in Cadaujac, Gironde. 40 years ago, he started by providing security individuals, some of whom are still customers today. The company then expanded developed on the solid foundations laid by its founder.

This year, she celebrates her 40 ans and keeps its rootslocal actor.

A significant technological advance

Michael Duboisthe company’s director, celebrated his 30th birthday last year. 30 years at ABT 24/24. It’s the oldest of the company. The secretary, Karinewho retired this month, worked with ABT 24/24 since the 1980s.

Both have therefore experienced numerous developments in this sector, particularly in the products ofalarm or of video surveillance.

Technology has advanced by leaps and bounds! When I started in the company, the main tool was the screwdriver, today it is the computer. Technologies have developed enormously, particularly concerning video surveillance. Cameras have evolved in precision and artificial intelligence has appeared. 20 years ago, it was coaxial cables, there was no artificial intelligence at all.

This makes the products more precise, more efficient, but also less expensive for the customer. Installations are also made easier for technicians, who use technologies radios rather than wired, which were mandatory at the time.

The global context has also evolved. Mickaël Dubois emphasizes that the work pace was different.

“We didn’t have no cell phonenor a computer. The days were different,” he recalls, before adding:

Forty years ago, few people thought about security. We practically left with our doors open. There were fewer thefts. Thirty years ago, it was a convenience to set an alarm, today it is a necessity.
