Flood in Emilia-Romagna, the Meloni government allocates 20 million –

Around 2,500 people have been evacuated to date, most of them as a precaution, in the areas of Emilia-Romagna affected by the flood, with technicians and companies already working to restore the banks in the affected areas: in fact, there have been no more water leaks on the Senio and Lamone. Meanwhile, the weather forecast is looking towards a significant improvement, with clear weather for the next three days. The President of the Region, Irene Priolo, carried out a helicopter reconnaissance of the flooded areas, in particular Lugo and Traversara di Bagnacavallo, in the Ravenna area, and Idice in the Bologna area. Then Priolo met with the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, together with the Minister for Civil Protection, Nello Musumeci, after the exchange on funds, the Undersecretary to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Alfredo Mantovano, the head of the National Department of Civil Protection, Fabio Ciciliano, the Special Commissioner for Reconstruction, Francesco Paolo Figliuolo.

At the same time, the request for recognition of a state of national emergency was sent to the Government, for which Prime Minister Meloni has called a Council of Ministers meeting for Saturday at 11:00. “We have asked the Government to promptly accept the request for a state of emergency to ensure support for the most affected populations, in particular in the provinces of Ravenna and Forlì-Cesena and the Metropolitan City of Bologna,” Priolo said. “For our part, our commitment to assisting the population and restoring the initial damage caused by cyclone Boris continues without stopping. We continue to stand alongside the communities and administrators.” For her part, Meloni, in an official note, reiterated the Government’s solidarity with the affected population, anticipating that she will allocate 20 million euros to meet initial needs and restore essential services and that further allocations will be made available following the assessments following the emergency.
