The issue of animal fat ghee being distributed as laddu prasad at Tirupati temple in South India has taken a new turn. The reactionary Hindus do not like their food to contain anything made from animal flesh or fat.

Now Acharya Satyendar Das, the Maha Priest of Ayodhya’s Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, has said that the lidos distributed on the occasion of the inauguration of the Ram Temple in January 2024 and the Pran Pratashtha Puja were procured from Tirupati Temple itself. Ghee containing cow and pork fat was used in these laddoos.

The Ram Janmabhoomi Temple Trust says only cardamom seeds were distributed at the temple’s inauguration ceremony in January.
