Bilal Sabri, the producer of the film Tarot, revealed that the film starring Rania Yousuf was banned from release due to inappropriate scenes in the talking incident.
“I got permission from the censorship body, no one can get around it, it’s normal, people spread a lot of rumors, God satisfied me, He is the best handler,” Bilal said in a recording for the Arabic program ET. “This topic has been going on for a long time since 2022, but they are now starting to talk about trends, that’s all.”
He continued: “Of course we deleted it, and I had censorship permission, I could post it on the Internet normally, the idea was that one of the heroines of this work, Rania Youssef, was married to one of the guys who cheated on her because she refused to cheat on him, she said to him (I can cheat on you with a dog), and that’s what was said, oh, what happened, the world was against it, we deleted it, gave us peace of mind, although, God, it was not needed at all.”
“I feel very frustrated that people knew rumors that I didn’t know about,” Sabri said in a telephone interview with journalist Saeed Ali on the “Hazrat Al-Citizen” program on the “Al-Hadath Al-Youm” channel. “Why is the media doing this to us? First of all, the screenwriter of the film, Professor Moataz Al-Mufti, is a graduate of the Film Academy and he understands what it means. “He is a very hardworking and intelligent young man, and the film is about to be released in theaters. There is nothing wrong in us doing a scene of betrayal with a dog.”
He explained, “The whole idea was that there was a scene with the artist Rania Youssef and she told him this line to the effect that dogs are more loyal than humans, and censorship said it wasn’t necessary. We got the license and to the surprise of the press, they were writing a scene of betrayal and they put a picture of Rania with a dog and we didn’t know who took the picture.”
He ended his speech by saying: “It will stop me from selling and getting rich, it will keep me away from this world, these people who fear God, who are paid for being a productive person. Does it make sense for me to make a scene of artist Rania Youssef cheating with a dog for their homes, families and daughters? People?”
It is worth noting that the film “Tarot” stars Soumaya Al Kashab, Rania Youssef, Mai Selim and Mohammed Suleiman, was written by Moataz Al Mufti and directed by Ibram Nashat.
