UBB corrects Racing 92 with gala wingers

In a spectacular match at Chaban-Delmas, Union Bordeaux-Bègles beat Racing 92 (52-22).

UBB gave Racing 92 a lesson on the fifth day of the Top 14. The Bordeaux team beat the Parisians (52-34) in a match with thirteen tries, eight of which were for Union Bordeaux-Bègles.

Penaud and Bielle-Biarrey have enjoyed themselves

And if we expected that! After the first few minutes where the visitors showed their desire to settle into the Bordeaux camp, their plans quickly went up in smoke. The fault of the unleashed Bordeaux. On their first constructed offensive, Damian Penaud concluded on his right wing and launched his match (5-3, 9th). Two minutes later, it was the same again. The French international winger received the ball along the touchline and scored a double that hurt Racing’s head (12-3, 11th). The Penaud wave continued to roll in.

On the other side, he brought the surplus on the left wing to slip a magnificent kick to follow for his counterpart Bielle-Biarrey (17-3, 16th). Bielle-Biarrey’s hour of glory had begun. Alone on the left, he was on the edge of the forward pass, but kicked a kick to follow. He took advantage of the error of Lancaster’s son, Dan, starting in the center, to take it and flatten it in the in-goal (24-3, 20th). The hinge also took out the tuxedo. When Lucu found a 50-22, Jalibert succeeded, a few seconds later, with a kick to follow to go and score a new try (31-10, 31st). The fifth for the UBB! Stuart Lancaster’s men took a blow to the head, but tried to react by scoring two tries before the break. The Ciel & Blanc forwards did not fail to show themselves to return to the break with a deficit that was not yet insurmountable.

A completely disjointed end to the meeting

Yannick Bru’s men did not decide to take their foot off the gas after the break. If Penaud was close to scoring a hat-trick after a (new) kick to follow, Depoortere distinguished himself under the posts after a magnificent service from the left (38-17, 46th). The visitors were no longer able to get out of the water and let Bielle-Biarrey (52nd) and Penaud (72nd) each score a hat-trick.

With victory assured, the locals relaxed and conceded three tries. They came close to being awarded the offensive bonus. The end of the match was also marked by three cards, including a red card received by Bordeaux substitute Lachlan Swinton, guilty of a cathedral tackle on Max Spring (74th). After a match with thirteen tries, UBB won 52-34 and secured a second success in the Top 14, the second at Chaban this season.
