“It did not arise due to circumstances nor did it fall as an opportunity from the Acropolis, but on the contrary, it is the result of the struggle of the last two and a half years”, characteristically noted the president of PASOK.
He added that he has broken the millstones of bipartisanship and sent a message to those who underestimate the effort and struggle of the last two and a half years. “A message to the preachers of discredit: It is not possible that we have achieved nothing – as they say – and suddenly PASOK from the single-digit percentages has reached one step before the government trajectory” he underlined.
“While we were fighting against New Democracy, some people had a double agenda. Or they clashed with New Democracy or SYRIZA. Not with both of them. My choice was once unshakable, which is why we look with optimism to the future: political autonomy in the face of populism, conservation and discord. I did not come to destroy New Democracy or SYRIZA. And who was SYRIZA finally? The same things that some people said, when PASOK was at 8% and SYRIZA at 32%, are they saying the same now that in the opinion polls we are at 16% and SYRIZA at 9%? asked Mr. Androulakis.
Referring to the Center-Left, the president of PASOK insisted: “The great Center-Left will not be made with windmills or with agreements under the table with various adventurers who turn the parties around. And how will the great Center Left emerge, some will ask us? We answer: As happened in Crete. Half of Crete turned green because we brought back old protagonists? It was achieved through unity, village-to-village, door-to-door. Our old voters are back. We can bring from all parties people from society, people with dignity”.
“We have only one goal: to quickly close our internal processes, go to society and put into practice in the big urban centers what we achieved in the periphery. Let our old voters come back and charm the younger generations to show us their trust” concluded the president of PASOK.
