An award-winning worker who administered anti-polio shots to thousands of children

Recently, he was given the award of ‘District Best Master Trainer’ for his outstanding services in anti-polio campaign.

Saadullah Sabatin Paracha started his career in the health department in 2009 and has administered anti-polio drops to thousands of children during the anti-polio campaign.

Talking to Independent Urdu, he said that ‘to save children from lifelong disability, parents should give anti-polio drops to children so that they can avoid disability.’

He said that ‘I am doing this work as a service and I am very proud of this work.’

He said that ‘Islam also commands that whoever saves the life of a human being has saved the life of the entire humanity.’

After the training of the staff in the hospital, the health department staff go out to administer anti-polio drops to the children in different areas. These places include bus stands, narrow and dark streets, slums and difficult areas.

In this anti-polio campaign, which usually lasts for four days, the staff of the health department works wholeheartedly and in every case they try to ensure that no child misses out on anti-polio drops.

Saadullah said that no case of polio has been reported in Mianwali district since 2013. Earlier in 2013, a case of polio was reported in an Afghan refugee camp near Kalabagh. Since then, there has been no case of polio in Punjab.

According to him, the number of registered polio cases in Pakistan is five.

According to Saadullah, we face some problems in some areas because some parents do not agree to give their children anti-polio drops, so we inform them and tell them the efficacy of polio drops. As soon as you agree.’

According to him, ‘security problems also arise in some places, but the district police officers are present with us at squares and intersections who perform security duties. It is a national duty and worship on which the officials of the department work together.’

He further said that ‘Our goal is not only to get jobs and achieve the target, but our mission is to eradicate polio from all over Pakistan. also run so that they can further inform the students and the public about this.’

According to him, ‘those who refuse to give anti-polio drops to their children, we kindly inform them about the efficacy of polio drops.’
