Lebanese Health Minister: 32 dead and thousands injured in new statistics of victims of telecommunications device explosions in two days

The Minister of Health pointed out in a press conference with the Parliamentary Health Committee, that “our greatest concern is to expedite the payment of compensation to hospitals, and we found the appropriate mechanism and discussed it with the head of the Syndicate of Hospital Owners.”

He pointed out that “hospitals must be quickly restored to their previous state of readiness in anticipation of any emergency,” after the state of alert witnessed by hospitals due to the explosions of communications devices in the past two days.

About three thousand people were injured and 12 people were killed in different areas of Lebanon on Tuesday afternoon when pager devices exploded simultaneously in the hands of Hezbollah members, in an unprecedented attack for which the Lebanese state and factions held Israel responsible.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken denied reports that Washington had prior knowledge of the pager bombing.

“We were not aware of this operation and were not involved in it,” State Department spokesman Matthew Miller told reporters.

The Lebanese factions held Israel responsible for the operation, stressing that “this path is continuous and separate from the difficult reckoning that the criminal enemy must await for the massacre it committed against our people, our families, and our mujahideen in Lebanon. This is another reckoning that will come, God willing.”

In another attack, 20 people were killed and hundreds were injured yesterday, Wednesday, after wireless communication devices exploded in Lebanon, which were in the possession of members of the Lebanese factions.
