The government of Egypt has announced that all citizens of Egypt will be provided with the corona virus vaccine free of charge, Egypt has received the Chinese-made corona virus vaccine.
The Minister of Health of Egypt, Hala Zeid, said in a press conference that the Chinese vaccine against the corona virus will be provided free of charge to the Egyptian citizens.
Egyptian and United Arab Emirates officials say the Sinoform vaccine has been shown to be 86 percent effective after completing clinical trials in Cairo.
Chinese Ambassador to Egypt Liao Liqiang and UAE Acting Ambassador to Egypt Maryam Al Kaabi were present with the Minister of Health upon the arrival of the first batch of Corona vaccine from the United Arab Emirates at Cairo International Airport.
On this occasion, the Egyptian Minister of Health Hala Zeid says that the government has signed an agreement with the World Alliance of Vaccines and Immunizations to secure the supply of more corona vaccines.
The health minister said that the Chinese vaccine will be given to corona patients and medical staff in other special hospitals on a priority basis. Along with this, patients with cancer or kidney failure, elderly people and patients suffering from chronic diseases will also be given priority in giving the vaccine.
It should be noted that 445 cases of corona virus have been reported in Egypt during the last 24 hours while another 22 deaths have also been recorded, so far the total number of patients in Egypt has increased to 120 thousand 147.
