It is the most important award in the TV and streaming industry: at the end of September, the “German Television Award” will be presented for the 25th time in Cologne. Who is nominated and who is presenting.

Cologne – The television award is presented by a different TV station every year: This year, WDR is the host, representing ARD. Esther Sedlaczek, who has been nerve-tested by dozens of live sports broadcasts, will host the “Night of the Creatives” on September 25th in the Flora. Here, the jobs behind the camera are primarily honored – directing, camera, script, equipment and more, such as yeswe.koeln reports.

Entertainer Barbara Schöneberger will host the so-called “Award Gala”, the television award that is shown on television, one day later, on September 26th, in the Coloneum in Ossendorf. ARD will broadcast the ceremony that same evening from 8:15 p.m.

The long night of glamour in Cologne: The nominees for the “German Television Award”

Even though the award is still called the “Television Award,” streaming services have also been taken into account since last year. This year, the jury is chaired by film and television producer Wolf Bauer (74, “The Physician,” “Forbidden Love,” and many more).

The competition between TV channels and streaming services has resulted in a particularly high variety of creations, he praised after viewing the award candidates: high quality with a wide range is the motto this year. The most productive last year were the providers of series, especially on streaming services and in media libraries. There is little new, but “tried and tested at its best” in the entertainment sector: from shows to late night to comedy. The situation is different in the “reality” sector, where several new formats were launched. In the “information” sector, almost everything revolved around the war in Ukraine and the Middle East conflict, the shift to the right in Europe and Germany.
