Mr. Kahrimanis considered it appropriate to pay a private individual 37,200 euros for the next two years, in order to close the windows, air conditioners and lights in the District building.

In particular, the Joint Ministerial Decision of the Ministries of the Interior, Finance, Environment and Energy effectively requires that someone be designated who should turn off the lights, computers, air conditioners, windows when there are no workers inside the buildings.

Today (20/09), the Regional Governor of Epirus emphasized that “we assigned the management company of the Region to find us a person. Of the 37,000 euros, 7,000 are VAT, while from the 15,000 per year (gross) the company is also taxed, therefore they are reduced”, speaking to ANT1.

Trying to justify the decision he made, he argued that “our support staff has retired, the “55-67″ program was cut. At noon we have a man who looks after the desks, answers the phones, the lights, everything. We had such employees, they retired and we have no one. We have very few people.”

Finally, he was invited to respond to the comments of District officials “why is this money not given for something else, more beneficial?”, he replied that “what people don’t know is that we pay over 50,000 euros every two years to clean the paint from the building”.
