New thematic workshop for jobs in Creative and Cultural Industries

The Region of Western Greece, specifically the Directorate for Development Planning (DIAP) implements the project “Regional Labor Market Diagnosis Mechanism MIS 5075872” within the OP Western Greece 2014-2020.

Through the project, the prediction of future needs for new jobs and new required skills is promoted as a consequence of the economic transformation, so that subsidized vocational training programs for employees and the unemployed adapted to the above needs are implemented.

To achieve the goals of the project, a thematic workshop is organized on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at the Metropolitan College in Patras, Ermou 78, on the topic: “Forecasting skills and jobs in the sector of “Creative and Cultural Industries” in the Region of Western Greece”- Time : 12.00 – 14.00.

The Focus Group aims to inform and mobilize Small and Medium Enterprises in the “Creative and Cultural Industries” sectors in order to be informed about the prospects of the sector and to contribute with their proposals to the development of their human resources. Indicative areas it concerns are:

  • Creative Craft – Industry: businesses with an emphasis on Design and the utilization of elements of intellectual property and cultural heritage (silversmithing, shoemaking, clothing manufacturing, etc. and handicraft businesses in general).
  • Entertainment industry: businesses in the entertainment and audiovisual industry (visual arts), electronic entertainment media, digital games (gaming), social applications, tourism and cultural applications, specialized educational services, etc.
  • The branches of publishing, printing and bookbinding.

The event will be welcomed by the Deputy Regional Governor for Entrepreneurship, Research and Innovation Fokion Zaimis and moderated by journalist Andy Magnisali.
