Indonesian mixed doubles pair, Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja qualified for the 2024 China Open after defeating Malaysian pair Hoo Pang Ron/Cheng Su Yin.
Dejan/Glo won two games 21-14, 21-9 on Friday (20/9) at the Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium. Dejan said he was very grateful for the victory.
“Thank God and thank you to everyone who always supports us. This year was not easy for us, there were many struggles so returning to the semifinals of Super 1000 is a very good achievement,” said Dejan in his statement, Friday (20/9).

On the other hand, Gloria said that reaching the semifinals in the Super 1000 tournament was an important process for them.
“Everyone has their own process, me with my mentality and Dejan with his. Each person’s method is also different and it takes time while matches keep coming in succession,” said Gloria.
Gloria admitted that she had gone through many tests to find her best performance with Dejan. In fact, she said that they often argued with high tension.
Therefore, Gloria admitted that until now they are still at risk of friction. “I am still learning how to control myself when everything does not go according to plan. I try to be big-hearted and find a solution together,” she said. (M-3
