New attacks between Israel and Hezbollah

New attacks between Israel and Hezbollah

– Attacks against Hezbollah in Lebanon will continue and become more intense, the IDF writes in a statement.

How many rockets Israel has fired at Hezbollah is so far unknown, but they come as a result of Hezbollah carrying out several rounds of attacks against northern Israel on the night of Sunday.

The first reports about the Hezbollah attack on the night of Sunday were that the militia had fired a number of rockets at the Ramat David military air base.

The IDF later confirms that Hezbollah has sent around 115 rockets against civilian targets.

– Defensive measures have been implemented in the area, and we are ready to stop any threat, the IDF writes.

One slightly injured

It is not yet known whether the rockets hit the target. According to Israeli emergency services, a man is slightly injured by shrapnel from a rocket that was shot down by air defenses near a village in the Galilee.

Local media reports that the rockets were stopped in the areas of Haifa and Nazareth.

Hezbollah states that they fired a number of rockets of the Fadi 1 and Fadi 2 types, which they say have never been used before. The group states that it is in response to repeated Israeli attacks.

The run

Later that night, the militia stated that it had carried out a new round of rocket attacks against the airbase.

In the morning hours, Hezbollah reported that the group had fired rockets at a military industrial complex in the Zofolon area, north of Haifa. According to the militia, it concerns dozens of rockets, of the Fadi type and the Katyusha type.

According to the Israeli military (IDF), Hezbollah fired more than 100 rockets during the night and early Sunday. Some of them have hit areas near Haifa, it says.

In July, the militia published a video that was allegedly filmed with a drone over the Ramat David air base, which is located around 50 kilometers from the border with Lebanon.

Excited atmosphere

Israel and Lebanon have fired rockets at each other almost daily since the war between Hamas and Israel broke out on 7 October. However, the mood between the parties has only become more and more tense, especially after an attack on pagers and other communication devices owned by Hezbollah fighters earlier this week.

On Friday, more than 16 Hezbollah fighters were killed in an Israeli attack on Beirut, including two senior leaders of the group.
