New MG HS with plug-in hybrid in Poland. Chinese competitor to Skoda and Toyota

The offensive of the Chinese brand MG Motors in Poland is in full swing – the new MG HS Plug-in Hybrid is making its debut in showrooms. The hybrid novelty is 4670 mm long, 1890 mm wide and 1664 mm high, and its wheelbase is 2765 mm. So we are talking about a car slightly larger than the Toyota RAV4 and slightly smaller than the Skoda Kodiaq, i.e. two models of popular brands, from which the MG HS Plug-in Hybrid is noticeably more powerful and cheaper.

The new MG HS Plug-in Hybrid is powered by a powerful hybrid. The 1.5 Turbo petrol engine with 143 HP and 230 Nm works with an electric unit with 183 HP and 340 Nm. The total power of the entire drive system is 339 HP and 365 Nm, which in combination with the automatic transmission allows you to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds. The maximum speed has been electronically limited to 200 km/h.

The MG HS Plug-in Hybrid is equipped with a 21.4 kWh battery, which can be fully charged in three hours at 7 kW using alternating current (AC). According to the manufacturer, the new model can travel up to 100 km in electric mode on a single charge – that’s 30 km more than the Toyota RAV4 and 20 km less than the Skoda Kodiaq. With a full tank of fuel, the range of the Chinese SUV is over 1,000 km.

The new MG HS Plug-in Hybrid is available in two equipment versions – Excite and Exclusive. In both cases, we are dealing with rich equipment and a 7-year manufacturer’s warranty (or 150,000 km). Customers can choose from six body colors – standard “White Pearl” “Arctic Blue” in the non-metallic version and “Pebble Black”, “Diamond Red”, “Sterling Silver” and “Hampstead Grey” in the metallic version. The interior of the vehicle is available in black and light brown. The list of standard equipment includes such elements as:

The Chinese SUV in its hybrid version has been priced very competitively. Prices for the base Excite version start at PLN 164,500, and the top Exclusive version at PLN 173,500. The Toyota RAV4 with a plug-in hybrid drive (PHEV) starts in Poland at PLN 238,200 in the Dynamic version. In turn, prices for the Skoda Kodiaq with a plug-in (PHEV) start at PLN 201,800 in the Selection version. At the beginning of sales, the HS Plug-in Hybrid model will be offered at a promotional price – the Excite version will be available from PLN 156,500, and the Exclusive version from PLN 165,500. The cars can already be ordered in Polish MG Motors showrooms.
