Maduro and González Urrutia are the protagonists of the closing of the electoral campaign

The afternoon and evening of this Thursday marked the end of the electoral campaign leading up to the presidential elections on July 28. In Caracas, Nicolas Maduro and Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia shared with his followers hours before the voting centers open.

The government promised to take over Caracas for a period of 12 hours, starting at 10 in the morning and closing at 10 at night; however, The capital did not show much movement of people during the day, something that changed as the day went on..

From the Bolivar AvenueMaduro gave his closing campaign speech, calling for unity in order to celebrate a new victory at the polls: “Commander Chavez was a father and a teacher for Latin America and the world. He awakened the spring season for this continent”.

During his speech, Maduro spoke about the recent cases of officials linked to the opposition who gave him their support. According to him, this happened after they were “disappointed.”

“From north to south, from east to west, these people are telling the extremist right: don’t dress up, you’re not going,” he said.

For its part, González Urrutia arrived at the end of the afternoon to the main avenue of Las Mercedesin the Baruta municipality, where together with Maria Corina Machado led a massive event.

“Long live free Venezuela. Long live Edmundo, the next president,” Machado said. “In the face of this overflowing Caracas, we want to tell you that we are ready to vote and to win”.

The leader asked those present to take care of their votes and thanked those who had organized themselves to serve as witnesses at all voting centers for their support.
