Early voting begins in 3 states, Trump rejects Harris’ invitation to new debate

As the countdown to the 60th presidential election continues, American voters headed to the polls on Friday to cast their ballots early in some states. Those wishing to take advantage of the opportunity to vote early in the states of Minnesota, South Dakota and Virginia began casting their ballots.

National polls showed Harris with a narrow lead over Trump, with 49.3% of the vote. Polls show Trump with 47.4% of voters.

In a related context, Donald Trump rejected a challenge call from his Democratic rival Kamala Harris to hold a new debate before the deadline scheduled for November 5.

In response to his rival’s call for a new debate on CNN on October 23, Trump responded during a campaign rally in North Carolina on Saturday, saying, “It’s too late to have another debate.” He said, “The voting has begun,” referring to early voting that began in three states on Friday: Virginia, Minnesota and South Dakota.

Harris’ campaign team said in a statement that “the Vice President is ready to face Donald Trump again on stage.”

Last July, Biden announced in a statement his withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race, expressing his “full” support and endorsement of his vice president, Harris, to replace him as the Democratic presidential candidate.
