The speeder was spotted by a police patrol on the A2 at around 10:30 p.m. as he drove towards Graz. The officers pursued the car, and the speed was determined using calibrated video surveillance. The driver was stopped at the Ilz junction. He admitted to speeding, but justified himself by saying that he had forgotten something at home and wanted to drive back to Graz quickly.
