The 26 de Octubre gymnasium, located in the Cumanagoto sector of Cumaná, welcomed more than 70 children and adolescents from the state of Sucre to carry out the “Skills Camp 2024”.
This course includes teaching the fundamental tools of the basketball discipline, the main objective of which is to learn how to move on the court, how to communicate in technical-tactical terms and action and reaction movements, elements that are fundamental for athletes today.
It is an activity that has been carried out at a national level at the initiative of the high-performance training specialist Saimon Skills, and the professional player of Los Broncos de Caracas, Harold Carzola.

Delio Centeno, head of press for the Sucre State Basketball Association, said that this is a very important event for the sport, as it seeks to promote and consolidate basketball.
“We want the children to grow in terms of sport, to understand how to play at a fairly high level and for all this knowledge to be useful for their professional development, so they can represent the clubs they are in in the best possible way.”
For his part, Saimon Skills pointed out that it is important to instill discipline in children, since that will be an essential tool in their careers as athletes. “With this activity we are trying to help and update what our basketball is in the country, trying to bring that new culture that we have been working on with a lot of ethics and professionalism.”

Harold Carzola said that these types of activities are valuable because they combine sport and culture and also provide a series of essential knowledge for the development of practitioners.
