A loggerhead sea turtle named Nazare has been returned to the wild following an extensive rehabilitation programme by teams at SeaLife UK. Rescued from a beach in Barrow-in-Furness, northwest England, Nazare was initially cared for at SeaLife facilities in the UK. Working with Flying Sharks, a company dedicated to promoting sustainable use of the ocean, and Portuguese authorities, the team secured her turtle passport, allowing her to fly to the Azores, where she was temporarily housed at Porto Pim Aquarium before her release in September.
