Julio Rodríguez resigned today as Andrés Hurtado’s lawyer, which is why public defender Christian Tasayco assumed legal representation of the television host during this afternoon’s court hearing.

Speaking to Canal N, Rodríguez said that he no longer sponsors the former comedian known as ‘Chibolín’.

Peru21 revealed yesterday that the lawyer was accredited to the Prosecutor’s Office as Hurtado’s lawyer last Wednesday. That is to say, his work with the artist lasted only one day.

Hurtado was arrested last night at a clinic in San Borja after Supreme Court Judge Juan Carlos Checkley, at the request of Supreme Court Prosecutor Alcides Chinchay, requested his arrest.

The artist is implicated in up to three cases of apparent corruption. One of them is for the million dollars he allegedly received from Javier Miu Lei so that, through the prosecutor Elizabeth Peralta, he could return a load of gold seized in 2020.

Hurtado Grados, who today underwent an identity check conducted by Checkley, will remain in custody for a period of 7 days.
