MEXICO CITY, September 21 (EL UNIVERSAL).- The return of “El Chavo del 8” to television and the ViX platform has María Antonieta de las Nieves, La Chilindrina, excited.
“After 52 years of dressing up as Chilindrina and people still remembering us, I am happy with life, and even more so now because I will be passing by every day, so I will be more famous,” said the comedian at the ribbon cutting of the photographic exhibition ‘From the screen to the street’, organized by the National Association of Performers (ANDI).
But there is one thing about fame that he doesn’t like: signing autographs.
“You meet someone and they say, ‘Oh, you’re so pretty. Now give me (an autograph) for my nephews, okay? Now a photo for my grandmother,’ and the line that’s waiting there never reaches me because with just one person we have to give autographs for 10 or 15 people,” she said.
In addition, he is part of Carlos Villagrán’s club, Quico, who charges for the photos that are requested of him.
“When I go out in the circus, I also charge for the photos, or at some special event with La Chilindrina, they also charge. Because if not, you’ll never finish… there are 20 thousand people in a stadium, how are you going to take 10 thousand photos if you don’t do it that way?” María Antonieta concluded.
