The Muay Thai Youth Team won 9 medals, at the conclusion of its participation in the World Championship, which was held over 10 days in the Thai capital, Bangkok, with the participation of 3,000 male and female athletes from 92 countries, under the supervision and organization of the International Muay Thai Federation.
Our national team managed to win a gold and a silver medal, in addition to 7 bronze medals, as our champions succeeded in presenting great technical levels, from the round of 32, through the round of 16, the quarter-finals, and all the way to the semi-finals, and the final round, which witnessed the crowning of the champion Aziz Al Hammadi with the gold medal in the 12-13 age group, 48 kg weight, while Ahmed Abu Jaish won the silver medal in the 12-13 age group, 63 kg weight, while the bronze medals came through Rakan Ahmed, Saeed Al Mazrouei, Saeed Ahmed, Maryam Al Suwaidi, Jasser Ahmed, and Khaled Suleiman. The “duo” Ahmed Abu Jaish and Mohammed Karim also managed to win the bronze medal in the Muay Thai competition in the 14 to 15 age group.
For his part, Abdullah Saeed Al Neyadi, President of the Asian and Arab Muay Thai Federations, President of the Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation, said: “We are proud of the new achievements made by our national youth team, at the conclusion of its participation in the Muay Thai World Championship, which confirmed the advanced status of the game and the great developments it has achieved on the global level.”
