A heated hearing was held this morning (Tuesday) in the Central District Court, in Shakma Bresler’s lawsuit against MK Tali Gottlieb. Bresler, as I recall, filed a defamation lawsuit in the amount of NIS 2.6 million following the Knesset member’s claim that Bresler had ties to Hamas. Number Surfers who shared Gottlieb’s claims, including screenwriter Manny Essig, are also included in the lawsuit.

“Hands redeemed in blood”: a warning letter was submitted to MK Distal for defamation
A large crowd came to the hall and prevented the debate from proceeding, Assig fired up the audience: “You have the right to speak in the debate like Bresler, she is not above everyone else you will speak.” Which caused Judge Chaimovitz to leave the courtroom.
MK Tali Gottlieb: “Perhaps we will ask Aviad Glickman whether I was summoned for interrogation because Miara dared to issue a statement that she summoned me for interrogation, hallucinating hallucinations.”

Judge Chaimovitz: “Try to be calm.”
MK Tali Gottlieb: “The Kastner trial”
MK Tali Gottlieb: “What am I doing here, I’m a member of the Knesset. They think they are superior to us, they thought that because they are against the reform they will turn to the Lord and the door will be opened for them.”
Judge Haimowitz: “Many people came here, if we don’t manage to conduct the discussion, you came for nothing.”
MK Tali Gottlieb: “My lord will act according to his understanding. Don’t tell me we’ll limit the discussion, I’m just saying thank you.”

MK Tali Gottlieb: “Einav Tsengaukar, the mother of the abductee, is not a liar, is she? She said that the head of the Mossad told her that there would be no deal with this government.
“The Mossad also issued a denial about this, so she came back and said it was true, then the Mossad denied, now I fell off the throne because the Mossad denied, the Shin Bet, the Mossad and the Amman hid from the government an attempted military coup, an attempt to overthrow the government during the reform and the attempted coup on the night of the sixth of October. Then the head of the Mossad issued a denial to my words really”.
Attorney Shai Galili, who represents Manny Esseig: “When the High Court discussed the immunity of Knesset members from defamation lawsuits, there was a distinction between statements that a MK spontaneously says that then he has protection against defamation lawsuits and those that are said intentionally that then there is no immunity.”
MK Tali Gottlieb erupts: “Shakma is an enemy of the public who is instigated by all the media, I am a member of the Knesset, I must be allowed to do my job.”

The audience shouts: “Truth”
Attorney Ohad Rosen who represents Bresler: “Then let’s find out, come on let the discussion take place and stop lying”
The audience: “Shame on you worthless”
The security guards: “Be quiet one more time, I’m taking people out”
MK Tali Gottlieb: “Shut up mate, let me argue”
Shakma Bresler stood up in the middle of Gottlieb’s discussion: “I just want to say that I did not meet with the head of the Mossad.”
The crowd shouts to the judge: “Sit her down”.
Bresler insisted: “I never met with the head of the Mossad.”
Judge Chaimovitz asked Gottlieb: “Suppose a member of Knesset decides not to tell the truth, I’m asking about the role of a member of Knesset, someone quarrels with his jade and then he talks about it in the plenary, so this jade has a remedy?”
MK Tali Gottlieb: “If I slander my jade it is not in the performance of my duties, talking about Shekham Bresler who destroyed the State of Israel is in the performance of my duties and therefore I have immunity. Bresler is not a vegetarian, she leads a protest that her partner is a government employee and she didn’t reveal it, how did she know where the ministers were, I said they would lead us according to depreciation, but apart from imitation in a great country they didn’t listen to me.”
