Currency prices in Cuba today. Official and informal exchange rate

How will the price of currencies in Cuba look today, September 19? This is how the day begins with respect to the value of the US dollar, the euro in the Eurozone and the Freely Convertible Currency (MLC) on the island.

As every day, Directorio Cubano updates the exchange rates for Cuba, both officially and informally, for this September 19. Below, we detail the exchange rates both on the black market and in the banks and cadecas of the island.

In recent days, the informal exchange market has shown marked stability, as we have regularly reported. However, a decline in the value of the Freely Convertible Currency (MLC), the Cuban virtual currency, has recently been observed.

According to El Toque’s daily report, exchange rates in Cuba’s informal market have not shown major fluctuations.

The euro and the dollar have maintained the levels of previous months, with the euro at 330 CUP and the dollar at 320 CUP. However, the MLC has followed a downward trend that began two days ago, losing five Cuban pesos and currently standing at 270 CUP.

This behavior has caught the attention of analysts, although in general, the informal market in Cuba has shown little variation in the values of the euro and the dollar during the last few months.

During this time, these two currencies have maintained a stability that has provided relief to Cubans who depend on them. The current rates of the euro (330 CUP) and the dollar (320 CUP) reflect this prolonged calm, which has generated considerable interest.

Despite this apparent stability in exchange rates, some experts anticipate that the dollar could experience a slight increase in the coming weeks.
