At 71.164 billion euros the loans they own

In the second quarter of 2023, the loans of the private sector managed by the Companies for the Management of Claims from Loans and Credits (EDADP) reached 71.164 billion eurosafter the increase of 670 million euros recorded in the period under review.

According to the data released today by the Bank of Greece:

*The nominal value of loans under management increased to 71,164 million euros at the end of the second quarter of 2023from 70,494 million euros at the end of the previous quarter. It should be noted that from the fourth quarter of 2022, the nominal value of the loans does not include unaccounted interest and write-offs from the credit institutions that transferred the loan portfolio. The change in methodology was made to harmonize with the respective supervisory elements.

*The nominal value of business loans under management increased to 23,921 million euros at the end of the second quarter of 2023, from 23,530 million euros at the end of the previous quarter. In more detail, the nominal value of loans to non-financial enterprises (NFEs) increased by 403 million euros and amounted to 23,856 million euros at the end of the second quarter of 2023. Of the loans under management to NFEs, an amount of 12,264 million euros concerns loans to small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

The nominal value of loans under management to other financial institutions decreased by 11 million euros and amounted to 65 million euros at the end of the second quarter of 2023.

Loans to freelancers, farmers and sole proprietorships

*The nominal value of managed loans to freelancers, farmers and sole proprietorships increased by 25 million euros compared to the previous quarter and amounted to 9,581 million euros at the end of the second quarter of 2023.

*The nominal value of loans under management to individuals and private non-profit institutions increased by 254 million euros compared to the previous quarter and amounted to 37,662 million euros at the end of the second quarter of 2023. More specifically, consumer loans under management showed an increase of 47 million euros and amounted to 15,853 million euros. Mortgage loans under management showed an increase of 207 million euros and amounted to 21,510 million euros.
