The Cessna S-550 Citation S/II aircraft was stopped and when it was on the ground, the control tower was informed that there were two officers with the rank of major in the Venezuelan Armed Forces on board, and that it also had weapons.

The Venezuelan embassy in Colombia stated that due to meteorological problems in San Antonio del Táchira, the aircraft had to make an emergency landing in Cúcuta, and without authorization, and they also confirmed that The plane was covering the Caracas-San Antonio route.y There were two armed personnel on board, but no passports.taking into account that it was a domestic flight in Venezuela.
