Spanish PP delegation that traveled to Venezuela was not allowed to enter the country

The delegation of parliamentarians from the Popular Party (PP) of Spain that traveled to Venezuela for the elections this Sunday was detained at the airport in Caracas, according to the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo.

Through the social network X, the leader of the PP demanded his “immediate release” and that the Government of Spain provide the necessary means to this end.

“I have just been informed that the PP delegation made up of 10 deputies, senators and MEPs is being held at the airport in Caracas by the Maduro regime,” he said, and I demand their immediate release and that “the Spanish Government provide the necessary means to this end.”

In another message, the leader of the PP said that he is in contact with the Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado.

“Venezuelan democrats,” Feijóo adds, “value the fact that we are at their side, despite the threats, to expose Maduro’s tyranny to the world. It is the regime that is afraid: they know that the democratic spirit of the Venezuelan people is unstoppable.”

MEP Esteban González Pons and PP spokesman in Congress, Miguel Tellado, travelled to Caracas on Friday leading a delegation made up of Macarena Montesinos, Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo and Belén Hoyo, who were invited by González Urrutia and Machado.

Both also invited the Senate’s Ibero-American Affairs Committee to observe the elections, an initiative that has the support of the Senate’s Board and which was initially supported by all groups.

In the end, only the president of the commission, Juanjo Matarí from the Popular Party, and the spokesperson designated by the Popular Party, Alfonso Serrano, travelled.

Colombian senator was deported

Colombian Senator Angélica Lozano denounced this Friday that she was banned from entering Venezuela after being invited by the opposition to observe the presidential elections on Sunday, July 28.

Through her social media, Lozano published a video in which she claimed that all her rights were violated.

“María Corina, I cannot make it to our appointment. I am being deported with total abuse by the regime that is going to fall this Sunday for the good of Venezuela. Without arguments or information, they took our passports for an hour and a half, they didn’t tell us anything.
