Repse registers 101 new service providers, the majority of which correspond to Central

Asuncion, IP Agency.- Of the total number of new registrants, 58% are individuals, while the remaining 42% are legal entities. During the month of August, 101 new service providers were registered, and the largest number of registrants was in the Central department, reported the Department of Sectoral Policies for Services of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

The Repse is a Registry of Service Providers, both Legal Entities and Individuals, established to promote and formalize the Trade in Services, an important economic sector that contributes more than 50% to the generation of the national GDP and 60% to the occupation of the labor force of the Economically Active Population (EAP).

In general terms, since the implementation of Repse in October 2013 until August 31, 202, a total of 21,483 service providers were registered.

The Registry of Service Providers is acquiring more and more registrants, according to the latest report from the Department of Sectoral Policies of Services of the Vice Ministry of Commerce, which indicates that

Likewise, 38.61% of the providers are from the Central department, followed by Capital (Asunción) with 31.68%. The third place, with the largest number of registered service providers was Alto Paraná, with 14.85%, the report states.

In Central, the city with the most registered providers is Luque with 7, followed by San Lorenzo with 6 new providers, out of a total of 39 companies registered in August in Central.

In the Capital, 32 applicants were registered, followed by the department of Alto Paraná, with 15. Finally, it is seen that the total number of applicants to Repse in August 2024 was 101.

The data also indicate that these areas of the country concentrate the largest number of resident service providers registered with the Repse, because their activities are more focused on the commercial, industrial and service sectors.

Employed labor force

The Repse database highlights that service providers registered in August reported employing 520 people, including professionals, technicians and unskilled workers, who are further broken down into national and foreign workers.

During August, national professionals reach 33% of the workforce registered in the REPSE, with 171 employees, playing an important role in the Paraguayan labor market in that month.

Finally, other national employees, covering various occupations, represent 59%, with a total of 306 employees. These groups reflect the importance, diversity and capacity of local talent in the Paraguayan economy during this period.

Categories of providers

The MIC Department also indicates that among the most important sectors in these departments is the Tertiary sector (commercial and services), with an average of 70% of the entire economy, since in these areas of the country, commercial and service activities play a fundamental role in the economy.

However, the departments that did not register service providers registered with the Repse in August were Alto Paraguay, Amambay, Boquerón, Caazapá, Concepción, Misiones, Presidente Hayes and San Pedro, the MIC report adds.
