Petro responds to accusations of espionage against his government

This Monday, the president of Colombia, Gustavo Petroresponded to accusations against his government for alleged espionage, a fact that triggered the opening of an investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office of his country.

“This government does not do what others did in the past,” Petro wrote on June 24 through his X account. “Since the first day of government, the president’s order to the intelligence agencies is not to use it against the opposition, the press or the courts”.

Luz Adriana Camargo, attorney general of Colombiaannounced on Saturday that It was ordered to start the investigation following complaints received against the Petro government for alleged espionage.
