Lamine Yamal became the second-youngest goalscorer in the Champions League for Barcelona on Thursday night. Thanks to his goal away at AS Monaco, there were now thirteen teenagers in the Champions League for the Catalans, just one less than Ajax. Reason for a quiz.
Yamal joins a fine line of players who have scored for Barcelona as teenagers since the start of the Champions League in 1992/93. The fact that only Ajax has produced more talents who have scored a goal in the billion-dollar ball before their twentieth birthday says something about the youth academies of both clubs.
