Merida volleyball team ready for the National Championship in Trujillo

The Mérida state women’s youth volleyball team is ready to participate in the National Championship that will be held in Valera, Trujillo state, starting this Friday, September 20.

This team, made up of 12 players, has already completed a month of work in the 9 de Octubre gymnasium, a space adapted by Governor Jehyson Guzmán for use, training and competition in sports disciplines. This was announced by coach and selector Beyson Carrea.

This team was chosen in several camps. In the first one, 80 players attended, of which 40 were selected for the next module, then 25 were selected and, finally, last Monday, the 14 players that make up the team to represent Mérida in the national competition were chosen.

“The number of girls who showed up to do the work modules was impressive. They came from El Vigía, Lagunillas, Pueblo Llano, Ejido, Mérida, among other cities. We had the support of institutions such as Imdafef, Asovoleibol and others to attend the championship,” said the coach.
