Address leaked! NFL coach has to sell house

Dan Campbell actually feels comfortable in his house in Detroit. But now the Lions’ head coach is forced to look for a new home.

Since Dan Campbell took over at the Detroit Lions, the once chronically unsuccessful franchise has been on an upswing. The highlight of the development was reaching the NFC Championship Game last season, when they narrowly missed out on a place in the Super Bowl.

The Lions fans should actually be grateful to their head coach, but apparently that doesn’t apply to everyone. As Campbell explained, his address was published, which led to unpleasant situations. These even went so far that the 48-year-old was forced to sell his house.

Until now, Campbell lived with his family in Bloomfield Hills, a suburb of Detroit. “There is a lot of space, about two acres. The house is really beautiful,” he told Crain’s Detroit Business: “It’s just that when we lost, people found out where we lived.”

Campbell and family were victims of harassment

As a result, he was not bombarded with requests for autographs or visited by fans who wanted to talk to him. Instead, he was subjected to pranks and harassment after defeats, such as in January in the NFC final, as Fox 2 reported. The family also contacted the police.

Campbell and his wife Holly put the property up for sale this week for $4.5 million, and a buyer was found within a day. They said the buyer was a “huge” Lions fan. The house was originally built for a former NHL star of the Detroit Red Wings.

Meanwhile, Campbell and his family have already moved into a new house. “I’m happy for them that they can have this privacy,” said Ashley Crain, who helped to sell the old house: “And I hope that all the fans out there love him so much that they give him this privacy, and their family too.”

Campbell took over as head coach of the Lions in January 2021. After a difficult first season and only three wins, things noticeably improved starting in the 2022 season. The Lions finished last season with a record of 12-5 and were only eliminated in the semifinals of the playoffs against the San Francisco 49ers.
