Vienna (OTS) –

Minister of Justice Alma Zadić, the co-director of QWIEN Andreas Brunner and the person affected by the criminal prosecution Michael Woditschka present the BMJ memorial project “diskriminiert+”, which makes the fate of queer people who were prosecuted in the Second Republic visible and promotes active and dignified remembrance.

The aim of the memorial project “discriminated+” is to come to terms with the past, raise awareness of discrimination against the LGBTIQ+ community and pave the way to an inclusive future. After Alma Zadić’s apology for the criminal prosecution of queer people, the rehabilitation of those affected and their financial compensation, the memorial project “discriminated+” represents a further step in the Austrian justice system’s process of coming to terms with the past and making amends.

Time: Monday, 23 September 2024, 10:30 a.m.

Ort: Federal Ministry of Justice, Small Festival Hall, Museumsstraße 7, 1070 Vienna
