Turkey’s Speaker of the Assembly, Mustafa Şen Top, while reacting to the economic sanctions imposed by the US, said that the attempt to make Turkey a prisoner has become a thing of the past.
Mustafa Shen Top said in his statement that “the sanctions imposed by the United States are not compatible with the normalization of relations with the alliance and allied countries”.
He said that the dream of making Turkey captive in the defense industry is now a thing of the past, so any such restrictions are of no use.
Turkey’s Vice President Fouad Oktay said that “any country’s sanctions cannot make Turkey withdraw from its position, but American sanctions will strengthen Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s actions”.
On the other hand, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavus said that “we not only rejected the US sanctions but also returned them, we are firm on our intentions and decisions”.
It should be noted that the US has decided to impose sanctions on Turkey based on the purchase and installation of the S-400 air defense system from Russia. Under which trade sanctions have been imposed on Turkey.
While announcing the imposition of trade sanctions a day ago by the US Secretary of State, it was reported that Turkey, despite being a NATO member, purchased weapons, which is a matter of great concern.
Russia strongly condemned the sanctions imposed on Turkey and announced the continuation of agreements with Turkey.
