Vince Carter Reveals When Nets Will Retire His Jersey – Dunkest

Vince Carter’s Jersey Will Hang From The Ceiling At Barclays Centeran honor few other players in Brooklyn Nets history have been given. For Vince, the moment will be the January 25th when coach Jordi Fernandez’s (new coach) team will face coach Erik Spoesltra’s Miami Heat.

Carter was one of the Nets’ icons in the first decade of the 2000s. With the team now in Brooklyn, after having been in New Jersey, He played five seasons averaging 23.6 points after being traded by the Raptors in 2004/05.

We are thrilled to be able to honor a player like Carter who has contributed so much to our organization both on and off the field. He is an important part of the franchise’s history and we look forward to celebrating his legacy.

The owner of the Nets (who in the meantime are carefully observing Ben Simmons), Joe Tsai, who in recent seasons has seen many champions pass through Brooklyn without however managing to win a Title (first and foremost the Durant-Irving-Harden trio), celebrates Carter in this way.

Vince’s jersey will thus join those of Julius Erving and Jason Kidd, already retired by the Brooklyn Nets.
