Director Mohammed Abdel Aziz’s lens takes place in Damascus, announcing the start of filming for the series “Roxy Nights”. “Roxy Nights” tells the story of the beginning of cinema’s arrival in Damascus during the French occupation in 1928 and the making of the first Syrian film. The film was written by the studio of Bushra Abbas, Maan Saqbani and Shadi Kiwan and supervised by Shadi Kiwan. Director Mohammad Abdel Aziz. Although the series is about the occupation era, this time it will tour the neighborhoods of Damascus, moving away from the concept of leaders and leaders, as it deals with Damascene culture, art, literature and rebellion against customs and traditions.
Duraid Lahham has been outstanding in Syrian TV series in recent years, but his appearances in most of them are honorary. He guest-starred in the first episode of the series “Chicago Street” and in one of the episodes of the series “Paper Man”. But heroism was actually manifested through his meeting with the late actor Osama Al-Romani in the series “Alive in Love”, directed by Bassem Al-Salka. In this production, Lahham plays the role of Amin; Hassan’s old friend, who plays the role of Roman and has been away from the artistic stage for many years because he lives outside Syria. This partnership has produced an excellent production whose main focus is the persistence of friendship despite the differences and gaps that may exist between the families of the two friends. The production at the time brought together many outstanding personalities, the most notable of which are Saloum Haddad of Sabah. Al-Jazairi, Nadine Khoury and Samar Sami.
If we turn to cinema, we find that Durred Laham has acted in many films in recent years, having given several experiments to director Basil Al-Khatib, first in the multi-awarded film “Damascus Aleppo” (2018), then in the films “Al-Hakim” and “Two Days”. Finally, Laham announced a collaboration with Basil Al-Khatib on a film called “Zaytouna”, which is expected to begin shooting soon in Damascus.
