CHAIRMAN of the Legislative Body (Baleg) of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Wihadi Wiyanto, said that the Draft Law (RUU) on State Ministries and the Draft Law on the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres) will be brought to a plenary meeting to be ratified into law on Thursday (19/9).
Wihadi said that the two draft bills had previously been approved during a working meeting at the Legislative Body together with the government.
This means that both bills have been discussed at the first level to be discussed at the second level, namely the plenary session. “Yes, already rapim (leadership meeting), already Bamus (Deliberative Body),” Wihadi emphasized, as quoted on Wednesday (18/9).
Wihadi also said that his party is open to the possibility of further discussion when the bill is brought to a plenary session. In particular, related to the mechanism of requirements for Wantimpres members.
Regarding the Wantimpres Bill, the point about convicts with sentences of less than five years being able to become Wantimpres members is said to be removed at the plenary meeting.
Wihadi said the bill needs to be approved by members of the House of Representatives to be ratified. “When there is a discussion tomorrow, ratification to the plenary session is still given the opportunity,” Wihadi explained. (J-2)
