Tragic Casualties Emerge from Recent Explosions Tied to Hezbollah Munitions

A security source and an eyewitness said earlier that communications devices used by Hezbollah exploded in the afternoon in the southern part of the country and in the southern suburbs of the capital Beirut. A source cited by Reuters said the communications devices that exploded across Lebanon on Wednesday were portable radios, different from the buzzers that exploded on Tuesday. There are also reports of dozens of injuries from the new explosions.

At least one of the explosions was heard near a funeral organized by Hezbollah for those killed yesterday when thousands of bomb blasts used by the Lebanese movement went off across the country, killing and injuring dozens of people.

Reuters reporters said they heard at least two low-intensity explosions today in different parts of Beirut’s suburbs. It is not yet clear what caused the explosions.

Lebanon’s health minister, Firas al-Abiyyad, announced today that the death toll from the bomb blast has reached 12 people, including two children. About 2,750 are the number of injured, of whom approximately 300 are hospitalized in serious condition, according to the official.

Hungary: BAC does not have a factory in Hungary, it is only a “commercial middleman”, says the Hungarian government

The Hungarian company BAC, which appears to be the manufacturer of the sirens that exploded in Lebanon, is a “commercial middleman” and does not have a manufacturing facility in Hungary, the Hungarian government announced today.

“The devices in question were never found on Hungarian soil,” government spokesman Zoltan Kovacs said in a post on Platform X. “This case poses no risk to national security,” he added.

This is the “ghost” company BAC Consulting KFT that built Hezbollah’s bombers

The scenes that unfolded in Lebanon yesterday could have belonged in a James Bond action movie, with pagers or buzzers going off simultaneously in the pockets of hundreds of Hezbollah terrorists across the country in a “smart” and hybrid Israeli attack, combining cyber warfare with sabotage.

The detonators from the Gold Apollo company – based in Taiwan – were bought by Hezbollah through a European distributor from Budapest, as Gold Apollo itself announced. Specifically, the blasted AR-924 models are produced and sold in Budapest by BAC Consulting KFT.

The AR-924 buzzer

According to Reuters, the offices of BAC Consulting KFT are housed in a “peach” two-story building in a suburb of Budapest. From the photos, the building is located in a residential area, between walls with another single-family house, without special features. The company name is posted on a glass door on an A4 sheet. A person in the building, who asked not to be named, told Reuters that BAC Consulting is registered at the address but does not have a physical presence there.

The company’s CEO, Cristiana Barsony-Arcidiacono, says on her LinkedIn profile that she has worked as a consultant for various organizations, including UNESCO. “The company was founded before 2010 with the creation of an office in Budapest and since then it has increased its team of consultants” says Cristiana Barsony-Arcidiacono in her profile.

Also, the company’s website makes no mention of the construction of the Gold Apollo buzzer. Instead, the company on its LinkedIn profile appears as a consultancy and states that “BAC Consulting animates environmental, political and development projects of wide scope and complexity”.

“With over a decade of consulting experience, we are on an exciting and rewarding journey with our network of passionate experts with an appetite for innovation and discovery in Environment, Innovation and Development and International Affairs. We work internationally as agents of change with a network of consultants who put their knowledge, experience and humanity into our projects on a connecting and authentic journey!

Be inspired by the global and local challenges of development, international affairs and the environment to find innovative solutions!

BAC Consulting is optimistic about these challenges that change today’s standards and turn to innovation with authenticity. We look forward to working with businesses and institutions that share our values to embrace change and progress with new strategies and solutions thanks to our unique academic and practical experience,” the company’s profile reads.

Reuters: Explosive detonators used by Hezbollah were modified by Israel ‘to production level’

Israel’s Mossad spy agency planted a small amount of explosives in thousands of pagers ordered by Hezbollah months before the devices exploded, a Lebanese security source told Reuters news agency.

The senior source said the militant group had ordered 5,000 beepers that multiple other sources said were flown to Lebanon in the spring.

The same source claimed the devices had been modified by Israel’s spy agency “at production level”.

A second security source told Reuters that up to 3 grams of explosives were hidden in the new pagers that went “undetected” by Hezbollah for months.

Details from the Reuters report are similar to those in the New York Times, which cited American and other officials.

Images of the damaged devices analyzed by Reuters showed a shape and stickers similar to the AR-924 pager model branded Gold Apollo – a Taiwan-based company.

Company founder Hsu Ching-Kuang said the devices were actually manufactured under license in Europe by a company called BAC, using the name Gold Apollo.

In a statement given to Sky News in Taiwan, the company said: “Apollo Gold Corporation has established a long-term private label franchise and regional partnership with BAC.
