September 19, 2024

Komatsu (President and CEO: Ogawa Hiroyuki) will exhibit at MINExpo INTERNATIONAL 2024 (hereinafter “MINExpo”), one of the world’s largest mining machinery trade fairs, which will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA for three days from September 24th (Tuesday) to 26th (Thursday). Under the theme of “Together for a Sustainable Future,” Komatsu will showcase its latest products and solutions, including automation, remote control, and electrification, which help customers reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and achieve zero emissions, and improve on-site safety and productivity.

Komatsu is strengthening its efforts to automate and remotely control mining machinery in order to improve the safety and productivity of its customers’ worksites. At this year’s MINExpo, Komatsu will exhibit the D475A-8 large ICT remote-controlled bulldozer, which will be commercially introduced in 2023, and the ZT44 remote-controlled blasthole drill for mining, as well as the first exhibit of an Autonomous Light Vehicle (ALV) concept vehicle for mining sites, which Komatsu began developing in collaboration with Toyota Motor Corporation last year.
To allow visitors to see these technologies in action, a demonstration will be conducted in which a large ICT remote bulldozer and blast hole drill will be remotely operated from a remote control seat set up inside the venue, more than 650 kilometers away at the Arizona Proving Grounds. A live broadcast of an ALV’s autonomous driving at the Arizona Proving Grounds will also be broadcast.
