A Cinematic Gem: Martina Gedeck Captivates in ‘Bella Martha

On Saturday, September 28th, at 8 p.m., the Nossentin Art and Cinema Church will be showing its last film of this cinema church season, “Bella Martha.” Martina Gedeck plays the lead role in the award-winning 2001 feature film. She is Martha, single and head chef in a French restaurant, and has no other purpose in life than cooking. Until she suddenly has to look after her eight-year-old niece after her sister dies in an accident. She also has competition for her job, but in the form of a nice Italian chef. And so a romantic liaison begins between pots and pans…

And after the film, as always, there will be wine, water and conversation, along with something to nibble on, this time something from Martha’s fine kitchen.

This year, the twelve films shown were also very popular. The cinema events have been running for 13 years. 160 films have been shown so far and over 11,800 visitors have come. The team of the Art and Cinema Church Association is already considering which films they want to include in the program next year.
