FORMER US president and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has spoken out after reportedly being the target of another assassination attempt at his Florida golf club on Sunday (15/9). Trump said in a statement that he is safe.
“There were gunshots all around me, but before the rumors get out of control, I want you to hear this directly from me. I am safe and sound!. No one can stop me. I will never give up!” he said, as reported by Anadolu, Monday (16/9).

Law enforcement officials told reporters they had arrested a suspect seen by U.S. Secret Service agents holding an AK-47 assault rifle outside Trump’s golf club. U.S. Secret Service personnel opened fire on the gunman who was near the property’s perimeter, a Secret Service official said.
“We have an individual in custody who we believe is a suspect,” Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said.
The official also said Trump was about 1,200 to 1,500 feet (365 to 475 meters) away from the gunman. Earlier, Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., cited reports from local law enforcement that an AK-47 automatic rifle was found in the bushes.
