This year’s main performance of the Dance Department of the Municipality of Patreon entitled the “Yesterday’s Future” will take place on Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 September at 9.00 pm in the closed event hall of the Marouda school complex (formerly SEGAS), due to weather.
In the show – which was scheduled to take place on September 11 and 12 but was postponed due to adverse weather conditions – more than 500 young and old dancers participate, who will present dances and events from all over Greece for two days. Every day 8 regions of the country will be presented.
A great weight will also fall on the dances from Cyprus since this year marks 50 years since the Turkish invasion.
This year’s event will be accompanied by live music from an orchestra with great musicians of our popular tradition under the direction of Nikos Milos.
The orchestra consists of: Nikos Mila violin, Panos Skouteris – clarinet – bagpipes – tsambouna, Angeliki Pardali – singing – santouri, Kostas Stefanopoulos – singing – accordion, Panagiotis Stathakis – lute, Alexandros Rizopoulos – percussion.
