A NUMBER of heavy equipment industries participated in the Mining Indonesia 2024 event, at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, September 11-14. One of them is PT Gaya Makmur Tractors (GM Tractors), a pioneer distributor of heavy equipment from China with the flagship brand XCMG since 2005.

GM Tractors President Director Rachmansyah said that his party continues to strengthen its existence in the national heavy equipment industry. This year, his party is focusing on developing electric heavy equipment for the Indonesian market.

“We focus on developing electric heavy equipment go green. This time, we introduce EV heavy equipment (electric vehicle) XCMG is environmentally friendly and energy efficient,” said Rachmansyah, at a press conference at the Mining Expo 2024, Jakarta, Wednesday (11/9).

He hopes that by introducing environmentally friendly and energy-efficient XCMG brand electric heavy equipment, it can support the clean sky of Indonesia from pollution. “The advantage of electric vehicles is that they are environmentally friendly. Like in China, the sky is already blue (clean from pollution). We hope that in 5-10 years, the Indonesian people will see a blue sky,” he said.

He explained for the provision of batteries and charger on its electric heavy equipment, XCMG collaborates with BYD. “Currently for dump truck “XCMG electricity has been used by our customers who operate nickel mining on Sulawesi Island,” he added.

There are various types of XCMG heavy equipment marketed by GM Tractors in Indonesia, among others excavator, wheel loader, motor grader, mobile crane, crawler crane, mounted crane, and others.
