He said this while talking to the media after being released on bail till October 2 for campaigning on the occasion of the assembly elections of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Engineer Sheikh Abdul Rasheed has been in jail for five and a half years after being implicated in a fake case of funding for terrorism under the auspices of the Modi government.
Engineer Rasheed says that spending five and a half years in jail has not reduced my strength but has increased and I assure my people that I will not disappoint them in any way.
Sheikh Abdul Rasheed said that the narrative of ‘New Kashmir’ presented by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is nothing. I don’t believe him and will do whatever I can against him.
He said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have rejected Modi’s narrative. The measures of August 5, 2019 were not accepted by the people.
Abdul Rasheed Sheikh was arrested in a 2017 case and jailed in 2019. He won the Lok Sabha seat from Baramulla by defeating the former Chief Minister of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah in the recent Lok Sabha elections.
The Occupied Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections will be held in three phases (September 18, September 25 and October 1) and the results will be announced on October 8. Sheikh Abdul Rasheed has been released on a few conditions to campaign, including that he not speak to the media about his trial.
